ADDICTS LIVE EVERYWHERE.

This is not the first time I have read about neighbors concerned about a
drug or alcohol abuse treatment facility moving in. Don't try to kid
yourselves - it is a fact that all neighborhoods have a number of junkies
and alcoholics living in them. Many more move through neighborhoods during
the normal course of their lives. These are active addicts that have not
yet sought treatment or care.

Why is it that when these people turn their lives around and try to do
something about their past behavior that they now become a menace to be
feared? Personally, I'd be more concerned about the active alcoholics on
their way to the local minimart for more beer than about the recovering
addicts who recognize their problems and are taking steps to correct
themselves. At least you know who and where they are.
