Peters WILL TO WIN Regarding Wednesday's editorial "Another war": Although I agree that we need to continue the war on drugs and that it is a war we could win, I have concerns based on our past performance. We fought half way up the Korean peninsula, then quit. A cowardly president called off the air support at the Bay of Pigs, leaving an adversary near our shores and an oppressed people in Cuba. Presidents ignorant of military matters fought and lost Vietnam. We stopped short of Baghdad, where the terrorist still lives. In response to the destruction of two embassies and the attack on the USS Cole, Bill Clinton set firecrackers off in the desert. We can beat terrorists and we can stop drugs from reaching our shores, but will we? Kenneth D. Peters, Merritt Island - --- MAP posted-by: Jackl
