SOLUTION TO ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFICKING

For an entire generation, Americans have been on the armed defensive
against intercontinental ballistic missile attacks with armament
comparable, or superior, to that of the enemy. Coincidentally, our nation
and the North American continent have been unable to successfully cope with
an open, relentless attack by intercontinental drug traffickers.

If we were willing to deter attack by matching threat with a
counter-threat, why are we acting nearly helpless when faced with the utter
destruction of our civilization by illegal drug trafficking? What options
do we have to cope with this devastating attack on our lives? What should
be the nature of our counterattack once we admit our defensive strategy is
a lethal joke?

One suggestion is the USA should pay producers for not growing. It would be
cheaper than interdiction, neighborhood policing, incarceration, education
and rehabilitation.
