DOUBTS ABOUT DOOBIES

A concentrated effort has been made over the last 30 or 40 years to get
people to stop smoking or to get people not to start smoking. Society has
frowned considerably over alcohol excess over the last 100 years.

Yet, 800,000 people in BC smoke. According you your article, "Birth and
death rates in BC", Aug. 1, 164 out of every 1000 deaths in BC are related
to tobacco and alcohol.

Do we really need to legalize another bad habit like marijuana when we have
not grasped control of the smoking and drinking habits.
