THE DRUG WAR

I guess there are two ways to look at the Aug. 14 article "Police 
examine 15 north Houston overdose deaths."

More drug abusers are permanently off the street and will never 
bother us again. We do not even have to pay tax money for prosecution 
or incarceration.

Or we could ask how many more have to die because we have a thriving 
black market due to drug prohibition. It's a black market in which 
hard drugs are adulterated or inconsistent quality leads to overdoses.

As long as we put up with the drug war, the people have already 
decided which way they (or at least the politicians) think.
