HURRAY FOR POT

I just read Lyn Cockburn's Aug. 1 column on the medicinal use of pot. I
have to tell you I agree (Marijuana law a bummer, man). I have a friend who
is dying of AIDS. She has a heart condition and she is lucky to be still
with us. She has no appetite, but if she smokes marijuana she does and she
will not go through the hassle of getting a prescription. We also have a
friend who is a quadriplegic with severe muscle spasms and he smokes it to
help him relax.

The doctors who use the excuse of no evidence showing long-term effects are
fencesitters and are afraid of acknowledging this drug may help people.

Thank you for your honesty and I hope the government and medical field open
their eyes and as you say, see how they are being MORONS.

(Marijuana should be readily accessible to those in severe pain.)
