KEEP PUSHING FOR METHADONE

Regarding Thursday's article "Orange jail alters policy on 
methadone": Rich Crotty and Ron McAndrew sound like pragmatic and 
compassionate men. I hope they keep pushing for methadone in the 
jails. An addict should not have to die just for his/her stupidity in 
becoming addicted.

Some day our descendants will look back on the 21st century and 
wonder how their ancestors could have been so blind as to spend 
hundreds of billions of dollars in a destructive holy war to repress 
some drugs while rewarding the purveyors of other equally destructive 
drugs.
