LARGE BATCH OF DRUGS SEIZED ON TAJIK-AFGHAN BORDER

DUSHANBE. On Thursday, the Moscow frontier detachment controlling the
Tajik-Afghan border seized a large batch of drugs. According to the press
service of Russia's Federal Border Service in Tajikistan, a duty detail
spotted two people who were trying to get across the border river. Noticing
the border guards, the trespassers tried to escape. Following border
service rules, the duty detail opened precision fire, killing one
trespasser, while the other retreated to the adjacent Afghan territory.
Examining the terrain, border guards discovered an inflatable boat and 2
sacks containing 22 packages of heroin. How much heroin was in the packages
is yet unclear.
