'HERE'S TO THE HERB'

I read the recent article, "B.C., Quebec strongest in favour of legal pot,"
in The Province and I am in agreement with those who want to legalize cannabis.

Legalizing marijuana would allow the RCMP to do a better job.

I would rather see a police officer catch a murderer than bust a grow-op.

It is silly to think anyone would be so against the drug.

Marijuana is really not as harmful as it has been made out to be. It is
actually a rather useful plant.

Hemp can be made into anything -- from paper to houses. It makes very
strong rope and has a wonderful texture that is being recognized in the
fashion world.

In truth, marijuana is a huge cash crop in British Columbia. Weather in
this province permits for optimal growing conditions, and with the
disappearance of forests that used to provide B.C.'s primary source of
income, the growing of cannabis could create jobs for those who were at one
time involved in the logging industry.

B.C. needs to reassess and fight for the legalization of the drug known as
weed.

As far as smoking it goes, it's all good. Marijuana really is not as
harmful as some say.

It may kill brain cells and blacken the lungs, but is that not true of
cigarettes? If anything, cigarettes should be prohibited. Whereas weed (a
totally naturally grown substance) should be a cash crop that does not
involve chemicals.

I believe in herbal remedies, and marijuana is as herbal as one can get.

Here's to the herb.
