A personal opinion, a citizen-oriented recommendation and activist
reminder regarding the recent and unfortunate incident regarding the
drunken New Mexico State Police officer: Such an incident would not have
occurred had the officer substituted a marijuana cigarette for the
80-proof vodka he consumed.

Advocation is not being made for driving under the influence of any
substance; however, a chemical inclination - which could be genetic - is
most destructively served in our society by its condoned acceptance of
one of the most debilitating of chemicals - alcohol.

The need to continue the dialogue on drug legalization and/or
decriminalization is vital.

Thanks, Gov. Johnson.
