PIPER SHOULD TAKE DRUG TEST

Prosecutor candidate Robin Piper seems ignorant of the fact that many
folks are required to take a drug test as a condition of employment.
No test equals no job. Failed test equals no job.

I like Prosecutor John Holcomb's idea that Robin Piper submit to a
drug test and let the public know the results. In light of Piper's
conviction on a marijuana charge as a law student, and his subsequent
admission to using many other drugs, I think it is an appropriate
request. What's more, Holcomb has volunteered to be tested.

I am bothered that Piper's response to this suggestion was to laugh,
as reported in the Journal-News. Does he consider himself to be above
the same rules that the rest of us play by?

Well, some of us don't think it's funny that a candidate for the
highest law enforcement job in the county won't take a drug screen,
yet expects to get our vote.
