DESIGNER DRUGS

THANKS, ORLANDO Sentinel, for running your article about "designer
drugs." It's about time the news media started exposing the "war
crimes" being committed against the American people. It is even
scarier to watch the televised news media jump on the government
bandwagon, encouraging the frightened public willingly to give up
constitutional rights in the name of this war.

The "war on drugs" campaign is destroying the family institution: With
2 million people in prison, half for drug charges, imagine how many
families have become impoverished and stigmatized as a result. Those
who support this war will do anything, including manipulating the
numbers in their stats, to ensure holding on to their power-wielding,
money-hungry war.

The Libertarian Party is the only "party of principle" that recognizes
this war as a chance for the government to take more power away from
the citizens of this country. It's time to start treating this as a
national health issue and not a war.
