With the resurgence of the drug "ecstasy," this week's installment addresses common drugs, effects and types. Five basic drug types: Stimulants -- amphetamines, cocaine, nicotine. Depressants -- tranquilizers, alcohol, methaqualone. Hallucinogens -- LSD, PCP (Angel Dust). Narcotics -- heroin, opium, Demerol, inhalants. Cannabis -- marijuana, hashish, hash oil. Types of inhalants: Solvents -- glue, gasoline, paint, paint thinner. Aerosols -- hair sprays, deodorants, spray paint. Nitrates -- Butyl nitrate, nitrous oxide.
