NEW BATTLE LINES FOR THE DRUG WAR

Dear Editor,

The Drug War - What do we know?

We know one thing for sure after 85 years effort: police methods do not 
stop the flow of drugs.

What then is to be decided? Who will control the distribution of drugs? We 
have four choices.

1. We can have criminals control distribution - the current system.

2. We can distribute them like Viagra, through drug stores.

3. We can distribute them like alcohol and tobacco.

4. We can distribute them like coffee and soda pop.

No choice is perfect, and all have drawbacks. But the choice of criminal 
distribution has to be the worst of all possible worlds.
