Save Children From Drug Illness

If a parent is dying from cancer, do we ignore the help that the
children need? Of course not, these people are ill, as are drug
addicts (Daily Telegraph, March 15). This illness prevents them from
having functional normal lives.

They will sacrifice anything for the next hit. If just one life of a
child is saved by being removed from this situation, or if one addict
realises that by going straight they will not sacrifice their children
and can return to a normal, adjusted life, then do it.

It is a choice to be made by the parent: what do I want and love more,
my child or the drugs? I am not saying that drug-addicted parents love
their children any less -- but they have to learn to love and look
after themselves first.
