TANCZOS NOT PROMOTING CANNABIS

Sir-The fact that Nandor Tanczos acknowledges that he, along with thousands
of other New Zealanders, smokes cannabis does not mean he is "promoting"
it.

His concern is that the huge sums spent on finding and prosecuting dope
smokers might be better used for finding and prosecuting, say, burglars or
violent criminals.

While Nandor's groovy dreads and admitted use may appear to undermine it,
Green policy promotes, in preference, a drug-free lifestyle.

Were Nandor Tanczos a typical smoker, he would not be in Parliament. He
would be scoffing cold pizza in his lounge and considering getting involved
in politics tomorrow.

It may be Nandor, with his practical knowledge and emphasis on moderation,
who convinces your child that smoking dope is dumb.
