ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE

WHY IS it that anecdotal evidence is adequate to criminalize hundreds of
thousands of otherwise law-abiding cannabis users, (Letters, Brian Purdy,
Aug. 30)? There is no evidence cannabis "makes people unproductive." In
fact, people who take drugs like cocaine and cannabis actually tend to earn
higher wages than non-users.
