READER OFFENDED BY POLICE CHIEF'S COMMENTARY

I am insulted and l00,000 other Utah citizens who signed the Initiative B
referendum should be, too. Local funds and volunteer effort is what made
this Initiative B referendum a great success. To start an innuendo without
proof that George Soros is involved in the funding only proves that your
newspaper and Chief Jon Greiner are unbelievable (Aug. 16 commentary,
"Voters warned about Initiative B's ulterior motive: legalizing drugs").

I stand against forfeiture laws as bad laws that have and will continue to
destroy the fabric of our Constitution and our freedom. The forfeiture laws
take our constitutional private rights and private property rights away.

Congressman Henry Hyde is against drug offenders and so am I. We have good
laws to stop and lock up offenders. However, we should not take private
property without due process of law.

He is against forfeiture and we believe in him.
