CALL ME A DRUGGIE

After a letter praising efforts of the Lindesmith Center to combat
corruption caused by the war on drugs, your editor wrote, "By druggies
maybe." That's offensive. Concern about failed public policy does not make a
person a "druggie." Name calling and ridicule perpetuates poor policy by
stifling debate. The current policy isn't working.

This letter you're reading was written by a druggie. I smoke pot and like it
a lot. My poor vocabulary and lack of eloquence shows being a druggie has
rotted my brain beyond recovery. You should certainly ignore what I have to
say. I doubt you'll publish this. If you do, feel free to call me a druggie.
