POSTCARD FROM L.A.

[snip]

Never mind that this is the Democratic National Convention. Silicon Valley
Rep. Tom Campbell, a Republican who is challenging Feinstein for her U.S.
Senate seat, has a page-and-a-half schedule of activities slated for the
four-day event.

He spoke Sunday night about the failed war on drugs and the evils of
political action committee money at the Shadow Convention, an alternative
gathering that is highlighting campaign finance reform, the failed war on
drugs and the rich-poor income gap, among other things.

Campbell also is scheduled to appear at a youth event at a University of
Southern California fraternity house, and East Los Angeles Hispanic
community event, an African-American business leaders meeting and a drug
round table at the Transition House.

Campbell also spoke at the Shadow Convention in Philidelphia, during the
Republican National Convention.
