LIB DEM MP - I ALSO SMOKED DOPE AT UNI

LIBERAL Democrat Treasury spokesman Matthew Taylor yesterday became
the latest politician to admit that he experimented with illegal drugs
as a student.

Taylor, the 37-year-old MP for Truro and St Austell, said he tried
cannabis while studying at Oxford in the 1980s.

But as a non-smoker, he said he found the experience "absolutely
disgusting".

In a BBC interview, Taylor criticised the Government's drugs policies
for failing to take account of many people's experience, and called
for an "intelligent debate" on the issue.

His admission came after a similar disclosure by Cabinet Office
Minister Mo Mowlam.
