ANTI-DRUG SCRIPTS

Re "White House Tie to Anti-Drug TV Scripts Criticized," Jan. 14: Why does
the government need to bribe TV networks to present the government's point
of view on drug use? Why isn't it OK for something like marijuana to be
presented for what it's worth: Some people have trouble with it, while
others use it without any real problems.

After all, the government doesn't demand that motor vehicles, for example,
be presented solely in the context of motor vehicle accidents or that
drinking always be presented in the context of alcoholism. But for that to
happen, the government would have to be interested in truth and not just in
propaganda.
