Re: Bondi Urges Fla Supreme Court to Deny Pot Proposal

Bondi's tactics are extreme. She doesn't want Florida voters to be
allowed to vote -- even to vote AGAINST -- medical marijuana. She rails
against the "limitless situations" it allows, for which "Any physician
could approve marijuana for seemingly any reason to seemingly any
person". Never mind that the proposed amendment does neither of those
things, she goes on to quibble about what is a "debilitating disease",
and assume that voters are so ignorant they don't know that marijuana is
illegal under federal law. (In fact, the Summary says "Applies only to
Florida Law. Does not authorize violations of federal law...").

I wonder at Bondi's motive. Is it just political opportunism? I think
not. I think she simply does not trust other Americans to make their own
decisions. She thinks the Republic will unravel unless citizens are
coerced into line, a line defined by Pam Bondi.

To the Editor of The Troy Record:

Thanks for publishing the Denver Post editorial: "CONGRESS LAGS PUBLIC
ON MARIJUANA ISSUE" (10-26-13).

Is there any legitimate reason that a natural herb that has never killed
anybody should be classified the same as heroin? I think not.
Marijuana is a good substitute for potentially deadly painkillers such
as Vicodin and is also a substitute for alcohol.

The pharmaceutical industry knows this, and so does the alcohol industry.

And this is probably why marijuana remains a criminalized substance.

To the Editor of The Washington Post:

I agree with your thoughtful editorial that decriminalization of
marijuana is a much better
solution than arresting and jailing marijuana users.

However, the real solution if full legalization of marijuana. Only fully
legal products can be regulated by our government.
Only fully legal products can be controlled by our government. And only
fully legal products can be taxed by our government.

Subj: 004 LTE: letter re: Marijuana legalization effort needs Legislature's input
From:
Date: Tue, 29 Oct 2013 22:48:41 -0700

To the editors,

Your editorial, Marijuana legalization effort needs Legislature's input,
calls for a loud "Say what?"

I understand the O's editors reluctance to accept the inevitable. Heck,
you all supported Dwight Holton over homegrown Ellen Rosenblum and I can
truthfully say, thanks to this state's disorganized and amotivational pot
heads (a term of endearment, I be one) we have the right Attorney General
tather than this paper's pick.

That said, I truly wish your editors were just a smidge ahead of
politicians on the cannabis issue. In your editorial you say, "[i]n many
respects, marijuana is no more harmful than alcohol."

Say what?

Cannabis has no known level of fatal consumption and no trail of dead
bodies from lethal overdose. Alcohol on the other hand kills daily.

Here in Eugene around the University of Oregon, come certain party nights,
students wreak havoc on the streets, fueled by alcohol. No known similar
riots by stoned students has yet occurred.

It's no longer about pot ladies and gentleman. It's about the wrongful
prohibition of cannabis. Prohibition is the wrong here.

Please get your facts straight. Cannabis is far, FAR safer than alcohol.

To the Editor of the New York Times:

For the most part those who oppose the legalization of marijuana are
people who
are paid to oppose the legalization of marijuana. And those who make
their livelihoods
from the criminalization of of marijuana. Kennedy and Sabet are both.

To the Editor of The Houston Chronicle:

I'm writing about Sandy Descant's not-so-thoughtful letter: "Just
madness" (10-30-13).

Legalizing marijuana would make it much easier for adults to buy it but
not for teens and
children. Most high school and middle school students know where to but
marijuana.
But for children to obtain alcohol they have to steal it.

Legal alcohol dealers ask for identification to prove their customers
are of legal age.
Black market marijuana dealers only want to see the money.
